About the book →UBTech is the global leader in AI-powered humanoid robots, with the Cruzr service humanoid, Walker bipedal research platform, and the Alpha and Yanshee educational humanoids that have inspired the next generation of robotics engineers in tens of thousands of classrooms worldwide.
UBTech Robotics was founded in 2012 in Shenzhen and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2023. The company is one of the world's largest humanoid robotics manufacturers, with product lines spanning K-12 education (Alpha series), classroom and research humanoids (Yanshee), service humanoids (Cruzr), and full-size bipedal research platforms (Walker). UBTech robots are in 46,000+ classrooms globally.

Cruzr with full developer SDK for university research labs
Full-size bipedal humanoid for research and advanced service deployments
Programmable educational humanoid for STEM, AI, and coding education
Cruzr configured for vitals monitoring and elderly care
More UBTech robots are in K-12 classrooms than nearly any other humanoid manufacturer. The curriculum ecosystem, teacher training, and student familiarity make UBTech the safe educational choice.
A student can start with Alpha in elementary, progress to Yanshee in middle school, work with Cruzr in university, and research on Walker. One brand, complete K-PhD pathway.
Cruzr handles facial recognition, NLP, and autonomous navigation at a more accessible price than Pepper, with a more modern UX. Several US retail chains run Cruzr fleets.
“UBTech humanoids inspire the next generation of engineers.”
Real questions from K-12 districts, universities, and retail customers running UBTech.
Greeter, product info kiosk, queue assistant, brand spectacle. Cruzr does facial recognition for returning VIPs (with consent), product Q&A, store navigation, and runs branded video loops. Soft ROI is foot traffic and social engagement; hard ROI is reduced concierge labor.
NAO has the larger research ecosystem; Yanshee has a much better dollar (about 15% of NAO’s price). For most K-12 STEM, Yanshee is the right choice. For research-feeding programs, NAO is still worth the extra cost.
Today: research and high-end demonstration. Walker is closer to deployable than most full-size humanoids, but real service work for full-size bipedal humanoids is still 2-3 years out across the industry.
Yes, with the Health Monitoring configuration. RobotLAB handles BAA, encrypted data paths, and on-device processing where required. Multiple US senior living operators run it for vitals checks and resident engagement.
20+ including English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean. Voice training can add a custom accent or brand vocabulary.
Opt-in only. Faces are processed on-device and matched against a customer-provided database. No cloud upload by default. Configurable for jurisdiction-specific privacy laws.
Yes for Academic Edition customers. Full ROS integration, motion control API, and perception stack access. Used by several PhD-granting robotics programs.
One Yanshee per 4-6 students, plus Engage K12 curriculum and teacher training. A 30-student class typically gets 5-6 robots.
Designed for 8-12 hours of daily operation. Service intervals are quarterly. Some early retail deployments have logged 4,000+ hours without major issues.
Yes. UBTech is Hong Kong-listed (HKEX: 9880), publicly audited, and one of the largest humanoid manufacturers globally. RobotLAB monitors vendor risk regardless and stocks critical spares.
