About the book βVision Aerial designs and manufactures American-made commercial drone systems that generate data, not just footage β purpose-built platforms for multispectral agriculture surveying, solar array inspection, optical gas imaging, and infrastructure monitoring.
Vision Aerial is a US-based drone manufacturer headquartered in Bozeman, Montana. Unlike most consumer drone brands, Vision Aerial designs purpose-built commercial platforms β the Switchblade-Elite tricopter for mapping, the IS7 for infrastructure inspection, and dedicated systems for agriculture, solar inspection, and optical gas imaging. The mission is real-world data collection: hundreds of acres per flight session, multispectral imaging, and the durability to fly week after week in field conditions.
Switchblade-Elite tricopter with Sony RX1Rii for high-resolution mapping
Multispectral imaging drone for crop health and yield optimization
Thermal-imaging drone for solar array hotspot detection
Infrastructure inspection drone with extended flight time
OGI camera-equipped drone for methane and gas leak detection
Search-and-rescue and emergency response platform for first responders
US manufacturing, US support, and NDAA-compliant configurations available. For agencies and operators with DJI bans or NDAA requirements, Vision Aerial is one of the few real options.
Vision Aerial does not sell one drone with optional kits. Each platform is engineered for its job β mapping, agriculture, solar, gas, inspection. Performance is better than the do-it-all alternatives.
Long endurance, multispectral payload, RTK precision. One pilot can survey hundreds of acres in a single field session.
“Vision Aerial builds drones that generate data, not just footage.”
Real questions from agriculture, energy, and inspection operators.
Different categories. DJI Agras is a spray drone; Vision Aerial Agriculture is a survey drone. Vision Aerial gives you the crop-health data; DJI Agras applies the input. Many operators run both.
Thermal hotspots and visible defects, yes. Sub-millimeter micro-cracks require IR imaging payloads on slower passes; the system supports that workflow.
Unfold the rotors, attach battery, GPS lock, and you are airborne. Vision Aerial drones are engineered for field-team workflows where setup time directly affects coverage per day.
Stable to about 25 mph sustained, 35 mph gusts. Better than typical consumer drones because of the larger frame and tuned flight controller.
Fly in the morning, NDVI maps and zone reports back to the agronomist by afternoon. The Vision Aerial workflow integrates with major precision-ag platforms (Climate FieldView, Granular, etc.).
Augments, not replaces. OGI drone covers wide areas fast (pipeline corridors, well pads) and flags suspected leaks; ground crews confirm and repair. Total inspection time drops 60-80%.
30-45 minutes per battery depending on payload. Most field crews carry 4-6 batteries for a full session. Hot-swappable design minimizes ground time.
Auto-RTH (return to home) on any flight controller alarm. GPS-confirmed landing at the home point. Real loss-of-control crashes are very rare with this airframe.
Yes, used by search-and-rescue teams, wildland fire support, and law enforcement. Thermal imaging, real-time video downlink, and rapid deployment make it operationally valuable.
Two-year manufacturer warranty plus the optional Indefinite Flight Package, which covers crash damage during normal commercial operation. The latter is unusual in commercial drones and very valuable.
